Temporary Fun with my website: August 2007
Okay. I'm entering a fancy dancy MFA program in Digital Media Art where I'll be learning stuff like Flash, Dreamweaver and all that to make even more and more freaky art. With that in mind, I'm letting go of my fantabulous easy to use website: design courtesy of Danielle Chynoweth and easy to use Web Easel courtesy of OJC Technologies and entering a new era, where the sentences run on just as much, but where I am doing the work to make it is super freaky, geaky fun.
Because I'm super lazy, I'm grabbing the code from my other website www.sheilabishop.com so y'all can still enjoy some of my art work until such time as I turn my website into a work of art. I should soon have a few more links and the like up and running, but I have to re-learn a few things about creating website using html code.
VIDEOS
A collection of experimental, short video pieces all made (with very rare exception) with an iSight webcam and/or a decent digital camera and edited using iMovie. I did not have money to buy more expensive equipment and art freak that I am, I was working to see what I could do with my very limited resources.

Oh, Mama, Am I is a photovideo in my Objectifying Men series. Oh, Mama, Am I suggests that an artist with his work can be the object of our desire. Oh, Mama, Am I in love borrowed from The Barry Sisters. All ages content.
Photovideos is just a silly name for when I manipulate digital photos in iMovie to create a sense of movement in otherwise static images. The goal was to use the digital camarea to captured higher quality images in a wider variety of setting than I could capture with the iSight camera and to still somehow make an interesting video piece out of it.

The recent example of an ongoing series of pieces of experimental (and not so experimental) non-fiction/autobiography, with a small smattering of fiction and video work, that I send out via email to folks who said that they wanted my pearls of wisdom to arrive in their very own email box.

Sheila Claws' Magic Sexmas Candle
First of 12-month propitiatory candle series involving various performance characters of mine. The next one with be Professor WishUp's Formula to Cure What Ails the Uninsured, 'Cause a like and a promise is better than nuthin', which is a more than a wee bit bitter commentary on health care in this country.
PHOTOS
I am not a trained photographer, but I like taking pictures as a way to think about telling stories and revealing the characters of people, places and things. My long-term goal is have good enough skills to get people who are much better photographers and cinematographers to do what I want them to do. But I enjoy taking photos when I have access to a nice digital camera. I like being a beginner.

You probably have heard that the good ol'U.S. of A. does not fund/support/encourage the arts, especially experimental, avant garde or freaky art work. My work is without a doubt experimental, freaky and maybe even avant garde.
While I am being creative about how I support my artistic habits and do work all sorts of jill of all trade jobs, I do need the support of you art lovers out there to tackle some of the very ambitious projects I have in mind for the next couple of years.
If lots of y'all give small donations, it will be like I have a foundation to go to when I need to buy equipment, want to take my work on tour, pay talent for working on intensive projects and pay myself some scrap so I can have time to focus on time intensive projects.
